Victoria Coren is a writer, TV presenter, and one of the most popular pro players in UK poker. A journalist since the age of 15, she’s managed to juggle a successful media career at the same time as being a poker pro. It’s a game Victoria learned from her older brother, and one that’s seen her win over a million dollars since.

Like many other UK players who would later go on to win big, Victoria cut her teeth on the Late Night Poker TV show. It was the first-ever programme to let viewers see hole cards, and its success made players like Victoria famous across the country. Since then she has become a regular face on the poker scene, crushing the cash games at the legendary Victoria Casino in London, and also making a huge impact on the live tournament circuit. The highlight of her career so far came on home soil in 2006, when Victoria became the first woman to win a European Poker Tour (EPT) title with a huge victory in London worth $941,513. It was an impressive win against a field full of pros, and marked Victoria as one of the hottest players in the game. She’s continued to cash at the biggest events around the world, including the World Series in Las Vegas and the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) in The Bahamas, keeping her fans updated with frequent tweets.
Outside of poker, Victoria is still an active journalist for The Guardian newspaper, and has also appeared on television in documentaries, as the host of quiz shows, and as a poker commentator. She is also an author, and in 2009 released a critically-acclaimed memoir entitled ‘For Richer, For Poorer: A Love Affair with Poker’. Her hobbies includes playing games like scrabble, cribbage and bridge, as well as cooking and reading.
Victoria now stands proud as one of the highest-earning female poker players of all time, with the respect of both the fans and fellow pros, and there are no doubt other great victories on the horizon. She is a member of Team PokerStars Pro and you can find her playing online with the screen name ‘Vicky Coren’.
