Luca Pagano is one of those top poker players that combines an analytical mind with a naturally competitive spirit. He started out in computer programming, and also dabbled in investments. However it was in poker that he found the most exciting and rewarding way to make his fortune.
Luca began his poker career by playing at the free online tables. It was here that he first started crafting his skill and it wasn’t long before he moved on to real money games. Luca has been a big feature online in PokerStars biggest tournaments and has earned plenty of money at the high-stakes cash tables. He is also a leading figure on the live circuit as well. He has achieved much success on the PokerStars European Poker Tour, with an incredible record that began in 2004 when he took 3rd place at the Barcelona €1,000 Main Event for $24,500. This was followed in 2005 by an 8th place finish at the EPT Deauville €2,000 Main Event for a further $17,492. Luca then hit the big time in 2008 when he took home an impressive $533,253 for finishing 6th at the EPT €10,000 Monte Carlo Grand Final. This was followed by a big final table appearance at the EPT Warsaw PLN 25,000 Main Event for $128,930. In fact, Luca’s aggressive playing style and head for numbers has seen him achieve a record number of 19 EPT cashes in total so far.
Although Luca spends most of his time travelling and playing poker he also has time to oversee his business interests and investment portfolio. He is one of the top poker players to emerge from the online game and is focused on achieving his first major win in the future. Luca is a member of Team PokerStars Pro and plays under the online screen name of ‘LucaPagano’.
