Isabelle Mercier
Isabelle Mercier's appearance is a nice change of pace from the overweight and unshaven folks you generally encounter in a poker room. Those however who are glad to see her when they sit down at her table are likely to either not have played with her before, or have an intense dislike for money, because Isabelle "No Mercy" Mercier shows no mercy on her opponents. This is especially true for those who make the error of underestimating her because of her gender and good looks.
Although Isabelle just recently began playing poker full time as a professional, she is by no means new to the poker scene. She has worked as a lawyer, Blackjack dealer, and poker room manager at the highly regarded Aviation Club de France in Paris. It was while working at the Aviation Club that Isabelle realized that although she loved managing the poker room, she would rather play poker full time. Finally she made the big move to the less financially certain, but much more exciting side of the table, and began her career as a professional player.
Since turning professional, Isabelle has met with a great deal of success on the tournament circuit. She was introduced to poker fans at the 2004 WPT Ladies Night event where her aggressive play earned her the victory and $25,000. She also has a World Series of Poker final table to her credit when she finished 5th in the $5,000 No Limit Hold Em event at the 2006 series. Other big finishes include a 7th place at the 2006 European Poker Tour's French Open that paid over $70,000, and a 28th place in the 2005 World Poker Tour Championship that paid $56,615. With career earnings over $600,000, it is clear that Isabelle made a wise choice when she decided to take the plunge and play poker as a profession.
In addition to playing poker, Isabelle has also worked as a poker commentator for the last three World Poker Tour events at the Aviation Club de France in Paris. She also has written articles that have appeared in a number of poker publications. Isabelle has been living out of a suitcase for the past several years and enjoys the excitement of travelling the poker circuit and seeing the world. She also enjoys the finer things in life, specifically nice clothes, which she admits to having a fondness for. Isabelle has been wearing those nice clothes to win a lot of money as of late, and shows no signs whatsoever of slowing down.
