Daniel Negreanu
Daniel "Kid Poker" Negreanu has quickly become one of the most well-known poker players in the world. PokerStars is excited and proud to welcome Daniel as a member of Team PokerStars, where he joins our other professional poker players and ambassadors of the game. Stemming from his success in mentoring new players and his ability to read the action and players at the table, many already refer to him as a legend of the game.
Negreanu, originally from Toronto, moved to Las Vegas at the age of 23 to take on the best poker players in the world. His first exposure to many in the poker world, and instrumental in bringing him into the public eye, was during the World Poker Finals at Foxwoods Resort and Casino where he won back-to-back titles in 1997.
He has added many accomplishments in the past decade, including being named the 'Favorite Poker Player' by Card Player Magazine in 2006, and Player of the Year at the 2004 World Series of Poker. Daniel has won four WSOP bracelets, two WPT titles, and, until recently, held the record for being the youngest player to win a World Series bracelet.
Negreanu has written over 100 articles for Card Player magazine, has a syndicated newspaper column in over 50 cities and also has a best selling book on the market entitled, "Hold'em Wisdom for All Players." For his second book, Daniel has assembled a team of 'Superstar Contributors' to write a book called, "Daniel Negreanu's Power Hold'em Strategy." He regularly plays against these contributors in televised tournaments and high stakes games including Late Night Poker, High Stakes Poker, the Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament and Ultimate Poker Challenge (as a commentator and stand-in host).
