The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) takes place in The Bahamas every year, with thousands of players making the trip to play the Main Event and a packed schedule of side tournaments. It’s the biggest live poker tournament outside of Las Vegas, and qualifiers run all year round exclusively at PokerStars.
The 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure held at the stunning Atlantis Resort and Casino on Paradise Island in The Bahamas has now finished, after 10 days of intense poker action. In all 41 tournaments were played, and massive amounts of cash were awarded to hundreds of players. Congratulations to everyone that took part, and make sure you keep an eye out for qualification details for PCA 2013, which will be available soon.
The $10,300 PCA Main Event took place over seven days, and 1,072 players including hundreds of PokerStars qualifiers took part. John Dibella from the USA was crowned new champion, and he collected $1,775,000 for first place. Runner-up spot and $1,500,000 went to fellow American Kyle Julius, who missed out on the big one when Dibella rivered a flush in the final hand of the tournament.
The $25,500 buy-in High Roller event drew a field of 141 of the world’s best players, creating a total prize pool of $3,700,000. The winner was Leonid Bilokur from Ukraine who added a massive $1,134,930 to his bankroll. There was also a big finish for Team PokerStars Pro and 2010 World Series champ Jonathan Duhamel from Canada who notched second, good for $634,550.
The Super High Roller event, which carried a buy-in of $100,000, attracted a field 30 runners, which included some of the biggest names in the game. Swedish Team PokerStars Pro Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom took it down, securing $1,254,400 in the process. There were also cash finishes for 2011 PCA Main Event winner Galen Hall, as well as Team PokerStars Pros Jonathan Duhamel and Daniel Negreanu. The result was part of the huge PCA for Duhamel, who banked more than $1,200,000 in total during the festival.
