The opening event of Season 5 of the Latin American Poker Tour took place in the Chilean resort of Vina del Mar. In total a huge field of 672 players registered for the Main Event, and the big winner was Aliro Diaz from Chile, who beat fellow countryman Leonardo Olivares in the heads-up finale. After a six-player deal at the final table, Diaz took home $76,560 and Olivares $66,000.
