The Main Event winner was Mohsin Chanaria from the US, who collected the title, trophy and €1,350,000 in cash. In all 655 runners played the €10,300 Main Event, and 97 places were paid.
The festival drew to a close with the star-studded Tournament of Champions, featuring previous EPT Main Event winners. The victor was EPT6 Warsaw champ Christophe Benzimra who won a passport for Season 9.
The Super High Roller turned out to be one of the richest poker tournaments Europe has ever seen, with a total prize pool of €4,432,500 split between just six players from a field of 38. US pro Justin Bonomo took it down, beating a stellar field, and a final table that featured Team PokerStars Pros Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier and Daniel Negreanu. The win was worth an incredible €1,640,000 - one of European poker’s biggest-ever prizes.
The 8-Max High Roller event attracted another star-studded field and was won by Russia’s Igor Kurganov, who collected €1,080,000 for the win. There was also another big performance from Team Pro’s Daniel Negreanu, who went close to yet another tournament victory, eventually busting in runner-spot for €598,600 in prize money.
