GamCare

GamCare is a registered charity and has become the leading authority on the provision of practical help, advice and information addressing the social impact of gambling in the UK.

They take a completly non-judgmental approach on problem gambling. GamCare does not want to limit or restrict the choices or opportunities for anyone to operate or engage in gambling opportunities that are available legally and operated responsibly.
GamCare strives to develop strategies that will:

1. Improve the understanding of the social impact of gambling
2. Promote a responsible approach to gambling
3. Address the needs of those adversely affected by a gambling dependency

Counseling and Advice

GamCare offers many options for their counseling services, with communication channels for those who are affected by problem gambling including phone support and email. Individuals can receive advice, information, counseling and support through the National Helpline, whose number is listed below.

National Telephone Helpline - 0845 6000 133 (UK)

GamCare’s service is a confidential service, open to any individuals who are experiencing gambling problems, and also any friend, relative or employer who desires information, counseling or support over the phone. Professionals working with people with gambling problems can also call for advice and information. This service is available 24 hours a day.

Group Counseling

GamCare offers group counseling from their London Bridge office. It is a twelve-week program focusing on developing practical and emotional skills to help prevent destructive relapse and the groups encourage open discussion.

NetLine (UK Only)

If you find yourself suffering from your own gambling problem or someone elses’s, talk to a real person online to one of GamCare's trained advisors who can offer advice, support, counseling and information. Their NetLine service is open between the hours of 10am and 6pm Monday to Friday. For additional information, see NetLine.
